Changing times and Dealerships

With all the global dramas presently and recent events over the past few years has left the automotive industry in turmoil.

Firstly I want to make it clear, good dealerships do not over price or upsell or even rip customers off with inflated prices. We work with many dealerships and aftermarket specialists who invest in excellent training programs and the latest, highest level programs. Many independent garages and keyboard mechanics spend to much time spreading the idea that the dealership is conning the customers out of money they don't need to spend. I am not saying that some maybe don't ,but its not generally true as in most cases a vendor who deals with just one manufacturer will be focused and ultra experienced over someone who deals with the many multiple platforms .

Now this rant may seem like I am talking myself out of a job but I have to pay and build a relationship with the manufacturers and their vendors to be able to provide a quality service to my customers, sometimes they are the manufacturers appointees(dealerships) sometimes aftermarket specialist and sometimes independent garages and DIYers. I don't believe anyone is not trying the absolute best job performance possible. I don't like getting greasy turning spanners anymore so I refocused on Auto electronics and the associated network/module based technologies. Others do not like electrics so they invest in specialist tools and workshop facilities while dealerships have nice waiting areas, coffee machines and dedicated front of business staff to help you.

We are all working towards a customer focused solution, sometimes parts are not available due to global shortages, individual component are often made by multiple manufacturers and sometimes a piece is no long available, its obsolete for economic or material shortages. that means delays and sometimes parts being discontinued, what does this mean for the customer other than delays, it means your service provider, the small back street garage or the nation group dealership are often spending multiple hours over many days or weeks chasing and tracing parts and finding solutions in an unpredictable world market.

So what's my point? Well its simple, while the customers is the end recipient of all of this activity the workshop is also a customer in the chain, the dealership is a customer of the manufacturer and so we all sometimes have to wait. My point is we all have to communicate bad news sometimes and none of us like to hear it but its important to remember its actually just news, news that's bad to hear
